Best bunk beds ever

Bunk beds are seem to fall into one of two categories...adorable or abominable. Cynthia Rowley's daughters have the most adorable set I've seen.

The best part is that they are piped with bathroom caulk! Who would have thought? To see more images of her home, click here.

Perfection

A visit to Decorno (definitely an entertaining read) led me to Vincent Wolf's website. Holy smokes, this man is my idol. These rooms are just so right.

Timeless, neutral, easy, comfortable, and the list could go on. And there are loads of different themes used together perfectly. If you like these images, check out his website...each photo is better than the previous one. Wouldn't it be amazing if he held workshops?

That hurt

I woke up this morning wondering if this really happened. From the first series, you could feel that the game was going to end like this. Congrats to Oregon State and all their fans. There is no question which team was better last night. Sigh...

Pier 1 - who knew?

Yes, maybe we've been in the Caribbean too long, but I won't have expected a pillow like this from Pier 1. Too cute, especially for $30.

Anyone want to pick up two for me? :)

Freshening up your work space

Two years ago when I moved into a new office at work, the blank boring walls were almost as bad as spending an entire day indoors. I just had to create a feeling in my office, so I found four Steven Meyers images to (attempt to) keep a calm and fresh atmosphere. And I put some of those fragrance infusers in a corner so that my office didn't get that musty Caribbean smell to it. Some people thought I was crazy, but hey, I spend enough time there...

It looks nice, but after two years, a little more might be in store. I've been thinking about introducing some more plants and came across these gorgeous planters this morning.

I loved this the minute it flashed across Ruby Rooms website. Unusual, light, funky, so cool. After further research, this is sold only by Ligne Roset. Of course it is. Why would this be available for commoners?

And this modern planter box was featured on freshome.com. Unfortunately, it's not clear what the price is or who carries it.

Well, it looks like I'm headed out to the nurseries to see what is available locally. I'm pretty determined to show that I can create something like this...

...for less around 5% of it's $1,700 price tag. Yes, you read that right. Seriously, what has this world come to?

How do you keep your not-at-home office space looking fresh? And do you get comments on it?

Couture storage bins

Esty seller Attiahome has taken storage to the next level. Her white hand-beaded storage baskets are divine.

Going at it differently

The idea of a favorite dress as decor surprises me and is interesting. Would this look lame in real life or could it be pulled off?

Bedroom inspirations

Can you imagine starting and finishing each day in one of these lovelies? Sigh.

The wood wall in the last photo is so unusual. People can come up with such creative ideas. Glam, casual, and rustic...and all fab.

Personal post

All due respect to any tOSU fans out there, but what a high. I love me some USC football. I'd take that win last night over two glossy Panton S chairs any day.

I'm stalking a chair...seriously

At first, I thought that I had a sixth grade crush on the Panton S chair. But two years later, I still get a spark of energy and flush with excitement when I see them. They can be used in so many different spaces, decor types and combinations. So perhaps this has graduated to something more serious...infatuation?

They come in loads of colors but it is the white (surprise, surprise) consistently captures my heart. They also come in glossy and matte finishes. Recently I had the chance to try out a glossy white chair and it was surprisingly comfortable. And it seemed sturdier than the matte finish (which of course means more $$).

I would love these as dining room chairs, but Mr. Big probably wouldn't be so keen. He has conceded that I could have two for elsewhere in the house. It's a start.

Once the budget gets sorted, two of those glossy babes will be making a journey across the Caribbean sea. Until then, the infatuation the continues.

We've gone overboard

The wine barrel craze has officially gone to far. Not for the floors please...and definitely not for $35 per square foot.

Go ahead and tell me I'm wrong if you like.

Am I wierd?

Valerie Hammond's artwork (as featured on Design*Sponge) is romantic in a slightly disturbing way.

They're like mendhi taken to the next level.

Home sweet home

Two and a half weeks of vacation just thrilled us with visits to Santorini, Athens, Istanbul and a cruise of the Black Sea. Wow. We saw places, buildings, and ruins that were simply unforgettable. And we learned so much about different cultures. I look forward to sharing with you over the upcoming few days and weeks. This was truly a vacation to grow on...

...but I'm glad to be home. For the first time since I can remember, I was eagerly anticipating our return. Really seeking the comfort of our little life. Maybe it was the little pup or the new house or perhaps a curiosity about how much our grass had grown ? (The question did cross my mind) Whatever it was (and no disrespect to the amazing places that we visited), I was so happy to run through our front door yesterday. I suppose that is a good sign.

Just to give give you all a quick taste, buckle your seat belts as we travel to Oia, Santorini in the Greek Isles. Because the rest of our hotels on the trip were free via miles, we splurged and stayed at the new Mystique resort.

Believe it or not, that is not a stock photo. It's so beautiful there that even amateurs can get this.

View from the bathroom...no joke.

Two very happy friends.

Okay, enough about the views. Onto the incredible decor of Mystique. The moment I arrived, I was certain that I had died and gone to heaven. The entire resort was done in neutral creams, whites, embroidery...and driftwood! Bits of modern mixed in with natural and casual. And styled so perfectly...so simply. Well, for my taste anyway.

Bathroom

Cool driftwood lamps everywhere

Gorgeous textiles

It may look plain here, but it was so serene in person

And one last pretty to sigh to together. Heaven.
